Seek treatment for addictions in Durban

At Assisted Recovery Centres of Africa, we understand what you are going through. Your life is spinning out of control. You are scared, and you are tired. But you are not alone. We have helped hundreds of people just like you get on the road to recovery and stay there by going beyond 12-step programs.

We offer the latest medications to minimize withdrawal symptoms and control cravings as you enter recovery. Combined with counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy, this is the most effective treatment approach available today.

Equally important, ARCA Durban emphasises its in-patient programs. Our emphasis is on Medical Detox followed by an intensive psycho-social program. ARCA Durban does offer out-patient or various combinations of both in and out-patient services, according to patients limitations of time due to work, family or financial constraints.

With help from ARCA Durban, you will get through your first chemical-free days comfortably and safely. Once you begin anti-craving medications and relapse-prevention therapy, you will be ready to rebuild your life with our medical detox treatment which is pain free, comfortable and eliminate your cravings… What have you got to lose?

Preparing for the ARCA experience

ARCA caters for a very diverse cross-section of society. Do not expect an exclusive hideaway where one can cut oneself off from the world around you. You will share a room with up to five others and live at close quarters. You will eat at a communal dining table. The food is perfectly adequate, but do not expect gourmet cuisine!

Cellphones, iPads, and laptops are allowed on a limited basis AFTER the Detox period. and more as a need to have basis. At specified times of day, one may collect one’s phone from safekeeping in the office and make calls. Visitors are allowed after the initial detox period, but not on Sundays. Any money you bring with you is kept in safe-keeping.

While at ARCA, you will be among other people who are also fighting addiction. Being an active participant in a mutually supportive group is very therapeutic. Be aware that both you and your fellow participants may be highly vulnerable, and it is important to avoid “glamourising” one’s former alcohol and drug habits in conversations. Always remember the misery and suffering that one’s addiction has brought upon oneself as well as our families and friends.

Come with an open mind, and a resolve to beat the scourge of addition!

Supporting people affected by alcohol and other drugs

Everybody deserves a fresh start - Help for people with addictions

Not only is our programme safe and affordable, it is a fully supervised rehab facility with all the medical support on hand to see to the needs of clients. We understand the importance of support being there when you need it and believe that comfort is an important part of recovery. Telling our clients what to expect during withdrawal means that they can prepare emotionally for it, thus helping them to cope with the process much better.

We ensure that their emotional and physical state are both closely monitored during this difficult time so that they can get through it more easily. To this end we also offer complementary therapies to soothe the side-effects. Our non-judgmental attitudes and care will help to alleviate any suffering in order to reach a successful outcome.
